Description

This is a very common fault for the Mercedes 7-Speed (7G-Tronic) automatic transmission, the fault will cause the transmission to hold on to gears for too long before the next gear bangs into place, causing a very rough and jerky gear change. We will fully rebuild your faulty unit.
These control modules are coded to the vehicles immobilizer system and chassis so it is not possible to fit a second-hand unit to your vehicle. However, when we rebuild your own transmission control unit, we retain all the original programming so that the unit can simply be refitted and driven away.
These 7G-Tronic transmission control units have a common manufacturing design flaw that cause them to fail in the first place, even if you purchase a new unit from the dealer then you can expect it to fail at some point in the future as the design flaw still has not been corrected by the manufacturer.

Common Failure symptoms:

Intermittently not changing gear
Gearbox goes into limp mode
Sticking in gear
Not selecting gears
